Role Overview:
Join our client’s dynamic, career-focused finance team at a leading steel manufacturing company as a Manager Finance based at their Karachi Head Office. This pivotal role demands a highly skilled finance professional who will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective budgetary control. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, auditing, and experience with ERP software, particularly Oracle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial reports, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and statutory disclosure requirements.
- Monthly Financial Statements: Supervise the timely preparation, review, and analysis of monthly financial statements to identify and rectify any discrepancies.
- Statutory Compliance: Review quarterly, half-yearly, and annual financial statements to ensure they reflect a true and fair view of the company’s performance, in line with International Financial Reporting Standards and the Companies Ordinance, 1984.
- Audit Coordination: Collaborate with internal and statutory auditors to facilitate timely audits and reviews, ensuring all recommendations are implemented effectively.
- Revenue and Debtor Management: Oversee invoicing, receipts, and debtor control, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and managed.
- Budgetary Control: Exercise strict budgetary controls over the company’s expenditures, providing detailed variance reports to the Management Committee.
- Asset Management: Review the Fixed Assets Register, monitor capital job status, and oversee the closure and disposal of work in progress.
- Payment Approval: Approve timely payments for supplies, services, and government dues, including income tax and sales tax, as prepared through final accounts.
- Costing and Inventory Valuation: Review and approve costing and inventory valuation statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- ERP Implementation: Coordinate with software developers and consultants to ensure the successful implementation of Oracle/ERP software.
- Authorized Signatory: Act as an authorized signatory for the company, ensuring all financial transactions are executed with due diligence.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer and senior management.
Qualifications:
- Education: CA/ACA
- Experience: Minimum 6-8 years in a similar role.
- Salary: Market competitive with additional fringe benefits.
